White Mountains of New Hampshire
The White Mountain range is the site of several impressive peaks. It is especially known for Mt. Washington which is the central peak and the highest point in the northeastern United States. When visiting, you will find over 100 miles of roads, the most notable being the Mt. Washington Auto Road, and 1,128 miles of hiking trails. A portion of the Appalachian Trail traverses the mountain range, along which, there are 8 hostels. You will see deep valleys at the base of summits ranging from medium level heights to the 22 peaks that reach heights of over 4,000 feet. There are luminous lakes, sparkling streams and pretty ponds where you can see wildlife like the deer, moose, bear and bobcats. You can enjoy the trout fishing, or pitch a tent and sleep out under the stars, climb to the summit of Mt. Washington or Pinkham Notch or have a picnic lunch as you gaze at the awe inspiring beauty.
